Provided project management and programming support for their Shaklee.net services, including online ordering, automated cyclic ordering and personal web site generation and maintenance.

Assist in coding CGI and Server based applications for IDEA customers.

Worked with Genentech, Inc. on a Posting system for Articles, Events, Features, and Files for their internal network. This system allows different groups within the company to share information amongst themselves, and other groups.

Worked with Shaklee Corporation to provide support for product ordering as well as special web sites for members.

Worked with Jel Productions to debug some PERL scripts written by another developer.

Provided LAN Server and OS/2 troubleshooting support, migration testing for OS/2 Warp Connect and VisualAge C++, and C++ debugging support. Converted their existing build processes to PVCS Configuration Builder and integrated it with PVCS Version Manager.

Transferred to their Tools Development Team where I am currently evaluating, designing, and implementing tools which assist the developers and builders in producing consistent code and documentation across multiple machine levels.

Assist in coding CGI and Server based applications for Myrel customers.

Wrote a custom ordering system for Marlowes Flowers which provides for a frequently updated feature item, shipping charges based on destination, and encrypted order notification for fulfillment via email.

Began developing a Java Based Applet and/or Application for recording, playback, archiving, and reviewing archived sound bites for use in distance learning.

Assisted in porting PERL scripts from a UNIX server to a Windows NT server.

Created the LinuxAGoGo site for CyberSoft, Inc. to provide a searchable database of Linux based products, services and resources.

Wrote a technical proposal/overview for the Yellow Pages Superhighway project.

Worked on the design and implementation of a User Interface to assist Financial Planners in maintaining their client's portfolios using the 'Grinchworks' strategies.

Created a Java based telephony application for the Windows and Macintosh platforms. The application used an early release of the JavaSound API in combination with native methods to record, transmit and playback sound between two clients, using point to point TCP/IP communications.

Assisted in developing sites for Virtual Works' customers.

Provided interface from Macy*s Bridal system to Mercantec shopping cart system to allow customers to order online through Wedding Line.

Provided support for the HotScreens web site using customer's text, images, and design. Modified Selena Sol's WebChat software to meet specific needs of the customer. Implemented developer's mailing list using procmail.

Part of a development team working on the customer's Screen Saver project using the Borland C++ compiler under Windows.

Originally brought aboard to troubleshoot existing in-house Point of Sale application. Worked with the Vice-Present of MIS and Point of Sale Supervisor to determine future development path for store Point of Sale and polling applications. During my five years here we progressed from outmoded personal computer based systems to state of the art registers. Adapted Techpoint's STAR Point of Sale application to include name and address capture, zipcode based taxing, dial out credit using VISA POS- Port, and inventory management. Assisted in the selection of new polling software, and established the necessary links between the AS/400 and the new polling machine using PC Support.

Provided retail expertise to assist in the design of a new Point of Sale system and item code numbering scheme.

Ported Series/1 Price Management System to Post Software International, Inc.'s Point of Sale Controller under AIX on a RS/6000.

Provided design and coding for 128 bar code reading under IBM GSA for 4684 Point of Sale registers, an alternate tax fix, and software installation. Performed register upgrades and problem determination for several local stores. Added Help facility to IBM 4680 GSA Point of Sale system.

Added the ability to enter timesheet information at the Point of Sale Controller and upload the data to the AS/400 for payroll processing. Provided personal computer and network support as well as programming support for Lotus 123 and Paradox. Installed Xcellenet polling software, and added user interface.

Independent Projects :

• Assisted in the construction of http://www.edkoch.com.
• Created a customizable Newspaper Comics Page using PERL and comic sites around the Internet.
• Created several tools for OS/2, including the following :
  • ASK - a replacement for Norton's command
  • BEEP - a replacement for Norton's command
  • CONECHO - echos to the console so that information can be redirected without leaving the user in the dark
  • DIRDIFF - compares directory trees and their contents
  • ROLL - rolls off a file and keeps # copies for backup
  • WAITTIME - waits # seconds or until HH:MM, or until a file appears

Maintained on-site support at Macy*s California for Post Software International, Inc.'s SMART Point of Sale Application. Coordinated efforts between Macy*s and Post Software International, Inc. to resolve new and existing problems. Assisted in the installation of new software releases and new hardware. Utilized Dos-Based controllers connected to IBM 4683, 3683, and 3653 registers using store loops.

Initiated a base form of our Point of Sale application to be used for all future customers. Standardized programming change method, customer version numbers and software release methods. Recovered Harold's of Oklahoma City as a client.

Hired to provide customer specific versions of a Point of Sale application. Worked on Back Office changes and Host data conversion for several customer releases (Nature Company, Island Pacific, Gem of Hawaii, Charlotte Russe, Mitsukoshi, McDonnell Douglas). Promoted to Senior Programmer. Responsible for releases to Festivities, Harolds, Vroman's and Nature Company.

Salvaged a Point of Sale project that was failing due to customer relation problems and a lack of resources. Lead programmer for a Medical Administration System. Worked with a team of three programmers to develop a Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) Calendar Program. Supported an existing Patient Management System using Dbase.

Provided tutoring for the Introduction to Programming class using Pascal. Worked with students to design and debug Pascal programs from the simple to the complex.

Assisted in the design of an Advanced Dungeons and Dragon character generation program and then implemented that design using Dbase III as part of a two quarter independent study program.

Executed job schedules and reports on an IBM 38 Mainframe.
